Meet Erika, the artist behind Made You Look Murals. Her murals at St. Albans Lofts bring lightness and connection to the surrounding woodland areas. St. Alban’s Lofts offers residents a piece of serenity and nature while still living in the heart of NHID.

At the heart of NHID's health-conscious design is the thoughtful integration of Big Branch Creek and its tributaries, the natural waterways bisecting the District. Rather than viewing the creek as an obstacle, NHID is designed to embrace it – providing nature’s proven mental health benefits, stress reduction, and opportunities for restorative outdoor work environments.

Two Pedestrian bridges span the stream that bisects NHID, connecting Makers Alley to Standard and Standard to Benchwarmers Bagels and more retail.

NHID features a private greenway segment that will ultimately connect to Raleigh’s Greenway system. The boardwalk design with pedestrian bridge connections provides connectivity throughout the district for pedestrians walking or biking.

@shopbofemme started in 2017 as a jewelry brand focused on quality and uniqueness and has since evolved into a line focused around life-long experiences you’ll always remember. From a jewelry charm bar and permanent jewelry to a custom hat bar of all styles, Bofémme is all about creating memorable moments and setting the standard of experiencing accessories.

Meet Summer Sky and Tonya Terry, co-owners of Teal HouZ and The BalloonZ Shop! @shopthetealhouz is a clothing boutique for tweens and teens that encourages young girls to be optimistic and have fun through clothing. @balloonz.shop is a boutique party goods and balloon install shop that focuses on balloon decor, event design, bounce houses, and more.

Meet Kyla Smith, owner of Ky’s Kandles! Ky’s Kandles started in 2017 as a passion project for Kyla during her college years. What began as a simple hobby has evolved into a mission to redefine luxury candle-making. Recognizing that many candle companies do not offer quality, toxin-free ingredients, Kyla melded her love for human health and candle making with an emphasis on the candle’s ingredients and sustainability.

Meet Julie Ferrer, founder of HomeTurf! @hometurfnc is a premium indoor cycling experience revolving around community, connection, movement, and music. HomeTurf’s founder, Julie, is a former collegiate athlete and on-stage performer who worked in the advertising industry for six years before following her heart and becoming a cycle instructor. This fulfilled a dream of hers to be able to do what she loves with all the things that she loves; fitness, performance, music, and most importantly, a team.

Meet Anna Zarlinga, owner of Hellbent! @stayhellbent is a private label clothing brand that also hosts other women-owned clothing, accessories, and home decor brands. Hellbent was created to help you find the reckless yet confident spirit within yourself, to showcase women that uplift other women, and to provide high quality merchandise that you will feel proud to own!

Meet Will and Julie Lin, co-owners of Green Rabbit Plants! @greenrabbitplants is a neighborhood plant shop delivering a unique plant experience to NHID. With options like houseplants, planters, terracotta and more, there is sure to be something for everyone, whether you’re new to houseplants or a seasoned pro.

Designed For Joy is a non-profit providing immediate living wage work for women coming out of crisis situations. Designed For Joy’s hope is for their artisans to find confidence in themselves, learn to trust community, and to leave DFJ with marketable skills and a solid job reference to succeed in the job market. Stepping into DFJ, expect to discover a curated selection of genuine leather handbags, jewelry, home decor items, and more— proudly made right here in Raleigh!

We are excited to welcome seven new local businesses, all owned by female and/or minority entrepreneurs, to the North Hills Innovation District (NHID). The vibrant retail lineup for Makers Alley includes Amelia’s Flowers, The BalloonZ Shop and Teal HouZ, Dose Yoga + Smoothie Bar, Green Rabbit Plants, Hellbent, and Ky’s Kandles. HomeTurf will set up shop in Tower 5.

Standard Beer + Food, a locally owned, popular brewery and restaurant, will open a second location in the North Hills Innovation District (NHID). Standard's new space will feature a 5,600 SF interior and more than 15,000 SF of outdoor gathering space – the most of any other North Hills space to date.
